Record go is a car rental brand operating at major Italian airports. The conditions below summarise the official charges and rental terms for Italy. Full contractual terms are signed at the counter on collection; the Italian-law version of the rental agreement prevails over this summary.
Rental qualifications
Valid ID (EU) or passport (non-EU), in roman characters, physical format only. Driving licence held at least 1 year; an International Driving Permit may be required. Minimum age 19: a junior-driver surcharge applies at 19–20 and a young-driver surcharge at 21–24. The contract holder must provide both a local address in Italy and a home address. Up to 6 business hours of pick-up grace before the booking is treated as a no-show.
Payment
Visa and Mastercard (debit or credit) and American Express (AmEx requires Total Comfort cover). Cash and bank transfers are NOT accepted. A physical card in the lead driver's name must be presented at the desk; the cardholder must be present and know the PIN. Premium car groups require a credit card.
Excess & basic cover
All rates include an excess (CDW and Theft Protection with excess). Indicative excess by group: Mini/Economy €1,300 (theft €1,600); Compact €1,600 (theft €1,900); Intermediate €2,000 (theft €2,300); Vans/Premium €2,200 (theft €2,500). Buying Total Comfort (TCC) or Total Comfort Premium (TCPC) reduces the excess to €0. Damage, accessories, penalties, taxi and towing are not included up to the excess.
Total Comfort Cover (zero excess)
Total Comfort (TCC): excess €0 and no pre-authorisation; excludes damage to optional extras, undercarriage, engine, clutch, negligence, lost/damaged keys, wrong fuel and special cleaning. Total Comfort Premium (TCPC): same plus premium roadside assistance (taxi & towing included) and lost/damaged keys & special cleaning cover. The Zero Excess rate already includes TCC.
Fuel policy
Full / Full: you pre-pay the tank and the unused fuel is refunded on return. If the car is not returned full, you are charged the missing fuel plus a €30 fee, at official pump rates.
Driver surcharges
Junior driver (19–20): from €10.95/day. Young driver (21–24): from €9.95/day (up to €25/day for premium groups). Additional driver: from €10.50/day (max ~€126 per rental).
Optional extras
Child seats (infant, forward-facing, high-backed booster): €12.95/day, €25.90 min, €155.40 max per rental (loss/damage €300). MiFi pocket Wi-Fi: €8.95/day. Snow chains: from €9.95/day (max €90). RSAC premium roadside cover: €7.95/day (max €111.30).
Out-of-hours & other charges
Out-of-hours pick-up (10pm–8am): €40 — a flight number is required and we wait up to 40 minutes after closing. Other charges include: special cleaning €75–150; smoking €50; driving outside the authorised territory €1,000 + €0.25/km; late return €40/day plus the daily rate; fine administration €40; wrong fuel or lost keys from €302.50; roadside assistance from €237 depending on distance.
